Gingerbread House......
The latest and most definately the last Christmas project of the year.....
Now I know why they are so expensive to buy at the shops....oh my goodness. It nearly didn't make it ! All I can say is thank goodness for icing and lollies. I am standing at full salute to those clever souls out there who make 2 story mansions with delicately piped eaves, turrets and doorways. This little house almost remained roofless when 'a little helper' snapped the roof in two pieces. I had good intentions of a crushed candy cane roof and little birds flying around the chimney (which somebody actually ate when I wasn't looking!). I am however just grateful, that the walls didn't fall down again for the 100th time
The children are bursting at the seams to eat it.........I think I will cry when they finally do.
My Christmas project took 7 hours from start to finish. At midnight last night I could have fallen asleep at the chair but ran the risk of being glued alive to the walls in an inch of icing. I plodded on and this morning completed the creation.
It's no oil painting but it is made with love
MERRY CHRISTMAS
xo

ReplyDeleteAndrea, yes sleep would be wonderful !! :-) Our kids were up at 3am this morning wanting to open their gifts ! oh my goodness..................of course we sent them back to bed ! Nobody is allowed to eat the gingerbread house....I think I will put it in a museum dedicated to crazy mothers who tackle projects such as this 2 days before Christmas ! lol
ReplyDeleteAs we go to bed tonight you will be awaking to begin your day. Enjoy yourself, eat too much, laugh a lot and always be happy. xo
