Fancy Coming To My Tea Party ?

Would you like a cup of raspberry tea ?

or maybe a pink macaroon ?
or what about a white rose cupcake ?

Come on in, take a seat and I'll pour you a cup !
Welcome to my birthday tea party.

My friends at Sweet Poison as always, supplied my birthday offerings. The pink macaroons melted in my mouth and the white rose cupcakes were delectible.
Sweet Poison offer not just cakes, but more like works of art.
The best thing is though, is that they taste as good as they look.

So my birthday afternoon tea was beautiful, pink, frilly fru fru and there was an endless pot of tea........raspberry tea to be exact !

Some teapots popped up in the pot plants....
A constant reminder of the solice that tea brings.

and a birthday party wouldn't be complete without a gift.
This little parcel arrived this morning from
but I have decided to save it for Sunday.
I wonder what it could be ?
It looks almost too pretty to open !

and in my dormant cottage garden that lies sleeping until Spring, I found great pleasure amongst the pink.
Tea parties are always sooo much fun !

Well my friends
after a very busy week I am off to have a fun filled weekend.

Antiquing Saturday is in my sites with an exciting antique fair that is being held in my town.
I am on the hunt for lace, lace and more lace.
I have been extremely busy of late preparing my range of jewellry which I will be launching very soon.
I simply cannot wait to share it with you all.

Then on Sunday it's birthday time. I'm crossing my fingers for a sleep in, but I'm sure it will begin with 4 little people sneaking in to wake Mum up with a cup of luke warm tea, cold toast with no butter and lots of kisses ! hahaha......
and I wouldn't have it any other way !

So you all have a fantastic weekend,
love each other
nurture each other
and treasure every moment.

Thursday Flowers.....Vintage Arrangement

Welcome to
 THURSDAY FLOWERS

Today I am very happy to bring you all flowers of my choice !
They finally feel like me !!

I am on a short break from my course, so this week I created my very own arrangement.
Nothing formal, just very much what I would have put together before my course came along.

It is vintage inspired and the flowers are displayed in a vintage vase.

My flowers of choice are lilac roses, lilac/pink freesias, white Stocks and white and  lilac coloured Misty.

I created the 'bones' of the arrangement with Camelia foliage, Stocks and the roses. Then I filled it all in with sweet smelling Freesias and the ever so pretty Misty.

and I even had a special helper.......

I told her to 'scidaddle' or I would tie a ribbon around her neck.
Guess who wouldn't go away ! lol
She wasn't at all impressed with the ribbon.
Sorry Martha x

The Camelia foliage went in first followed by the Stocks and then the roses.
I love to arrange my flowers out in the garden. I can make as much mess as I want too and the photo's are always so bright and happy !
and with the leftovers I made a sweet little spray.
I had sooo much fun creating with flowers of my own choice.
In a few months we will be able to chose our own flowers at my course. I will look forward to that day.
I have a fettish for good old fashioned flowers.....
Violets
Roses
Lillies
Hydrangae
Lilacs

NOW
is anybody up for a tea party ?

Tomorrow on
French Blue and Peachy Pink
I will be throwing myself a birthday tea party.

All of my favourite cakes
from my very favourite cake store........yum !
Pop in for a spot of tea, a macaroon and a chat.

Look forward to your wonderful company

Gift Wrapping Special........Pretty In Pink

It's birthday week this week on
 French Blue and Peachy Pink

and today I celebrate the art of wrapping gifts.

Somehow the wrap is almost as good as the gift that lies within.

Next time you are tempted to just throw your gift into a gift bag or box, think about some creative ways to present your birthday gift.

Tissue paper should never be underestimated. It is cheap, cheery and as bright as a button.  I buy mine at the local dollar store for $1 a pack.  A little trim and pretty card or tag and you have a beautiful gift for your receiver.

I have a box full of pretty papers and cards and when it's time to wrap a gift, I find everything in one handy place.
My favourite gift wrap at the moment is my last years calender. The graphics on my calender were far too pretty to throw away, so I kept it and recycle it to make cards and wrap gifts.
Another inexpensive way to wrap is with pages from an old book.
Everybody has old books lying around. Even newspaper pages (if the ink is stayfast and you line it with plain tissue paper) can look great to wrap gifts.

Home made gift tags are also inexpensive and best of all, you can put your own stamp of creativity onto it.

I love to put a little bit of BLING onto gifts.
I like to use GLIMMER MIST from Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft.
Aunty Vera has lots of pretty scrapping and craft supplies....go and take a look.  I simply wrap and attach the tag and give it a light spray of sparkly glitter.

Aren't the pages of my last years calender just beautiful?
They look great as gift wrap.
I kept the ribbon very simple on this gift because the picture was too sweet to cover up. A simple pale blue length of embroidery thread was all this gift needed to complete the look.
and this pretty pink parcel was wrapped in plain pink tissue paper, tied with a scrap of lace and I attached a vintage hair clip to it.

Pretty in pink and a pleasure to open.

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow for
THURSDAY FLOWERS

I will show you a pretty vintage inspired arrangement.
SEE YOU ALL THEN

Laura Ashley Jewellry Cupboard

Every year I like to buy myself a little something for my birthday.
Just a little something.......

This 'little something' came my way a couple of months ago.
It was on sale and reduced from $120 to $40.

A bargain and a very useful item !
I found it in my local Laura Ashley store.

It is a very pretty jewellry cupboard.
It is wallpapered on the inside and comes complete with a little draw.
Little hooks are ready to hang up my strings of pearls....Pretty !

I love it !
Straight away I filled it with a few of my favourite things.
My favourite Marshmallow scented perfume
My favourite string of pearls
and
my tiara ! (every girl needs a tiara)

I love this pretty piece.
It has inspired me to recreate a whole section of my bedroom.
Isn't it funny how one small addition to a room can inspire you to create a whole new look.

I think this pretty little cupboard was a great find.

Happy Birthday to me !!

See you all tomorrow

It's Birthday Week !

It's birthday week this week on
French Blue and Peachy Pink !

A little while ago now I passed my bloggy 1st birthday.
It's seems like forever I have sat here chatting to an audience who I do not personally know, but  incredibly I have grown quite fond of.
I have made so many sweet friends from all over the globe.
Bless you all for your love and support, know that I appreciate each and every one of you.

It is also my own birthday at the end of the week.....July 1st to be exact.

SO this week I have decided to have a birthday week.
I will be celebrating all week long.
There will be cake, tea, flowers and lots more.

So pop your party hats on, pick up your whistles and lets party !

Today I celebrate one of my true passions......
Antique postcards

I loooove antique greeting cards. They are full of charm, history, beautiful greetings, illustrations.....
and the sweet wishes they bring......
could they be any more gorgeous !

I just can't resist them.
I have been collecting them for many years now.
They always make me smile and the thrill of the chase is half the fun.
There is nothing more exciting than sifting through a nice big pile of greeting cards at the antique store.

SO
PLEASE COME TO MY BIRTHDAYS PARTY

it's going to be full of fun and pretty things.
and it wouldn't be the same without you.

See you all tomorrow
