Junk Shop Treasures......Auld and Grey

There is a dusty little place that is full to the brim with bits and bobs and the most interesting finds.

It is AULD AND GREY

IT IS ONE OF THOSE FANTASTIC SHOPS THAT YOU JUST NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO FIND.
It could be anything from a divine piece of Victorian lace to a rusty old iron gate that was cast out to the rubbish heap.
Treasures are a plenty  at this wonderful little place.
On a recent visit these are a few interesting pieces that caught my eye.

ABOVE pictured is this drop dead gorgeous pine washstand ? cupboard ?
It is really, really beautiful and is in fantastic condition for it's age.
The top of it is solid marble and the doors have sweet little carved out hearts  attached to it's doors.
I couldn't photograph the top of it because it was home to many, many things....

These pretty plates caught my eye.
Victorian, very delicate and I loved the aqua and pinks.
(please excuse the dust)

Old tarnished silver
begging for a polish and to be used again.
Unusual pieces.......you just have to dig around and have a good eye for detail.
Pictured here is a small section of the top of the pine washstand/cupboard.
As you can see it is topped with all sorts of things.
Vases, figurines, vintage prints......

The thing I like best about this store is the fact that it's treasures inspire your imagination.
Old gates and birdcages turn into stunning feature pieces for the garden or home.
Birdcages become light fittings and gates become towel racks.
The smallest piece of junk can be reused and spark your imagination.

They don't have an online store but you can contact them by email as pictured above.

                             Tomorrow
on FRENCH BLUE AND PEACHY PINK
                                       it is time for
                             THURSDAY FLOWERS
I hope that you will all pop in and see what I have been making in floristry class.

  2. Oh I love, love that dresser and I need, need that white table for my master bathroom! lol I can never find things like this when I'm in the antique/used furniture shops. I really want a white table like the one you found badly. Sigh...the search continues. Nice finds though.
