Thursday Flowers

                     THURSDAY FLOWERS

Welcome to the 2nd edition of 'THURSDAY FLOWERS' !

My aim is to share tips and flowers, plants, vases, vintage flower frogs and best of all, any pretty arrangements that I have learnt in my floristry course.

This week we didn't really get to play around with any pretty flowers but we did learn some wiring techniques and more decorative bows to tie up  pretty bunches of flowers.

SO TODAY I THOUGHT I WOULD CREATE A BUNCH FROM MY OWN GARDEN.

Today I chose some of my favourite 'bones' in my garden.  I chose my pretty white 'BUDLEA' (sometimes known as butterfly bush) which is happily blooming away and keeping home to many, many big blue butterflies.
I also chose white Hydrangae, Old Man Whiskers and Euphorbia for contrast.

This Budlea as pictured above is the queen of my front garden. She was the first bush that I planted when we built our garden. She is the bones of the garden and I love to pick her sweet honey like fragrant blooms.

Top right pic features 'Old Mans Whiskers' or 'Air Fern'.  It's spiderlike web consistency and grey colour compliment the white and green tones of my arrangement.
The white hydrangea are the very last 2 heads of flowers on my bush, I am savouring the last late Summer blooms......

and this delightful little plant pictured above is
' Euphoria Blackbird '
it's dainty purple stems and silvery green leaves are a lovely contrast with the white blooms.
