Thursday Flowers

Welcome to
THURSDAY FLOWERS

This week at floristry class I was delighted to see so many gorgeous blooms that were chosen for us to work with.

Tulips
Snapdragons
Spray Carnations
and
foliage of our choice
(I chose Magnolia)
It was the first time that we had worked with Tulips.
I couldn't resist the snowy white blooms, they were so beautiful.
Although...........after snapping 3 of the heads off while trying to wire them, I am sure the Tulips would have sprouted legs and ran out of the door if they could have ! lol

I chose a raspberry and white colour theme. I had brought in Magnolia foliage to work with and the colours of the leaves were perfect friends for my blooms.

Raspberry Snapdragons and Spray Carnations were perfect for the country feel that I hoped to achieve in my arrangement and I was really happy with the result.

I love pinching the heads of Snapdragons. I love the silly little faces that appear when doing so.
It always reminds me of when I was a little girl and my Grandmother used to grow them in her garden. I would be so amazed when she showed this little trick to me.

Did you know that Tulips continue to grow after being picked ?
My Tulips have already grown a few centimetres since arranging them in yesterday's class.  This was such an interesting fact to learn.

               This is my beautiful arrangement.
                      Isn't she just gorgeous ?

This beautiful arrangement of flowers is dedicated to a far away friend who inspired me along to follow my dreams.
Thankyou dear Andrea
may these pretty flowers make you smile
xo
