THURSDAY FLOWERS .......My Masterpiece !

French Blue and Peachy Pink is very happy with herself this evening !

When I started my new path into the world of floristry this time last year I never dreamt that I would feel so fulfilled in my career.
I really threw caution to the wind when I began this journey. I had no idea how I would manage a busy household, 4 children, 1 husband, 2 cats, a blog and a cottage garden !

It hasn't been a walk in the park BUT I have pulled it off......somehow !

Last year seems a big blur to me now but when I look back to my floristry photo's 1 year ago and then look at what I can do today it truly is remarkable.

That first day of my course when we were taught how to tie a simple florists bow seems so long ago !

Now my passion has led me down the pathway to happiness and creation.
I really LOVE working with flowers and I am so excited to be able to design and create my own designs.
It is so much fun letting your mind go BOOM and creating something amazing.
The cherry on top is getting paid to do something that I love !

An old friend of mine asked me recently to make a large design for her stall at the Sydney Trade Fair.
Her business REINVENTARE,
needed a table centre piece with a little bit of 'punch' and excitement and wow factor.
She wanted an Adam and Eve theme ?
(You can see some of her range she sells HERE)

hmmmmmmmm   thinking cap on

Then it all popped into my mind.
Greens, reds, texture, rusty colours and big happy faces of blooms.
I really wanted to tie apples into my theme but could not source tiny little apples like I needed.
I settled for cute little pears and I think they look brilliant !
The rusty urn was a great piece to work with too.

So here is my masterpiece !

My masterpiece had very humble beginnings.

This was my blank canvas.
An empty pot and buckets of flowers waiting to be made into something spectacular.

(below) Aren't Lotus pods amazing !
They look like great big shower heads,
They would be perfect for fairies to shower under in the garden :-)

If you would like to see my arrangement in the flesh, then visit the Sydney Trade Fair from Saturday 23rd - 27th February.
Make sure you tell my friend Trudie that I sent you :-)

I will go to bed tonight with a happy heart knowing that my dear friend is certainly going to smile when she sees what I have made for her.
x

  3. Love all of these; the lotus pods are just amazing! Not much by way of flowers over here, but I see my neighbour's snowdrops are coming out, so spring is close to springing!
