In between episodes of my Downton Abbey marathon session on the weekend, I ventured out for a spot of antique shopping with my friend Miss M.
We pottered around looking through all of our favourite stalls, chatting the whole time.
We both spotted this stack of really old soap dishes and saucers. Some were chipped and some were not. Miss M chose a creamy white dish with the insert inside (I should have thought to take a pic to show you.) I chose a Victorian transfer ware dish with a pretty lid and the matching saucer. It is in lovely condition !
Next I found 2 very petite collars trimmed with lace and both in unused condition.
I spotted a small clear plastic bag on a bottom shelf of one stall. There was something about it that caught my attention so I opened the bag and out fell glorious lace. It was all antique very fine lace and also in almost perfect condition. Finally I found a vintage pot holder with the prettiest floral print.
The price ?
$4
BARGAIN
I snapped it straight up.
After browsing for a while, we left and found our way to another favourite haunt of ours.
and then I found more bargains.
I headed to a big pile of lace and doilies and noticed that it was all half price......YAY !
I found a pretty white cotton table runner with crocheted ends.
I also found a pretty hand embroidered hankie pouch and an old French cross stitch pattern dated 1887.
The stitching is perfect and very pretty
